Nature-led
formulations

Other ingredients may be less familiar, but they all come from nature and can safely return there. For example, phytate is a natural organic compound found in seeds and grains. It is an antioxidant and a natural way to stabilise our products so that they last longer.

Pioneering packaging

Tub, bottle, dropper
Élucidé’s seemingly plastic tubs, bottles, and droppers are made of a revolutionary biomaterial based on PHAs (polyhydroxyalkanoates) produced by microbes. This bioplastic behaves like conventional plastic but is entirely natural and biodegradable. When placed in home compost, the same microbes that created the material see it as a nutrient-rich energy source, enzymatically transforming it back into its natural constituents, enriching soils and ecosystems.
Even the gorgeous lilac colour of our pots and bottles is considered. Natural dyes and petroleum-free additives are blended with polymer-like granules to maintain the compostability of the final product.

Origami box
Created using GF Smith’s FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified ‘Zen’ paper, our boxes open like flowers to reveal the products within. This little piece of theatre connects to the botanical extracts that are so integral to Skin Glow 2.0. More importantly, it means that we don’t need to use glue—a contaminant that causes “stickies” to build up in pulp during paper recycling, clogging machinery and causing defects in recycled paper.
Thanks to its high fibre density, Zen feels tactile and strong but is uncoated and entirely plastic-free. Print and packaging designer Laura Jane Boast chose Zen for its ability to hold its structure while retaining a lightweight, airy quality. Zen by name, Zen by nature.

Vegetable inks
Our boxes are printed using Pantone vegetable-based inks and renewable energy by Generation Press, a B Corp-certified company that ranks in the top 5% globally for its eco-friendly operations. Unlike most commercial printing inks, which are petroleum-based, our colours are chemical-free and healthy for the environment – both during production and when broken down into natural cycles.
During the design process, Laura tested eco-inks in Élucidé colours on carefully selected papers, seeking the perfect combination to elevate the pigment and truly embody Élucidé’s brand experience of awakening lilacs and deep moonlit greens.
